Troubleshooting Missing Images or Content in Chrome

Troubleshooting Missing Images or Content in Chrome

Some users may experience an issue where certain images, project tiles, or interface elements do not appear when using Google Chrome, even though they display correctly in Firefox, Edge, Safari, or Chrome Incognito Mode.

This behavior is usually caused by corrupted cached data, stale browser storage, or service workers that need to be reset.

Follow the steps below to resolve the issue.

Clearing data for only the Mothernode site removes outdated local files without affecting the rest of your browser.

Steps:

  1. Open the Mothernode page where the issue occurs.

  2. Press F12 (Windows) or Cmd + Option + I (Mac) to open Chrome DevTools.

  3. Select the Application tab.

  4. In the left sidebar, click Storage.

  5. Check all boxes under Clear storage.

  6. Click Clear site data to remove:

    • Cookies

    • LocalStorage

    • SessionStorage

    • IndexedDB

    • Cache Storage

    • Service workers

  7. Refresh the page using Cmd + Shift + R (Mac) or Ctrl + Shift + R (Windows).

This resolves the issue in most cases.

2. Clear Mothernode Data Using Chrome Settings (Alternative Method)

If you prefer not to use DevTools, you can reset the site’s data from Chrome’s settings.

Steps:

  1. Go to:
    chrome://settings/siteData

  2. Use the search bar to find your Mothernode domain.

  3. Click the trash icon next to the site.

  4. Return to Mothernode and refresh the page.

This removes stored files that may be preventing components from displaying.

3. Test with Chrome Incognito Mode

Incognito Mode loads Mothernode without extensions or legacy cached data. This helps confirm whether the issue is related to your browser profile.

Steps:

  1. Open Incognito Mode:

    • Cmd + Shift + N (Mac)

    • Ctrl + Shift + N (Windows)

  2. Log in to Mothernode.

  3. Navigate to the same screen.

If everything displays correctly in Incognito, the issue is isolated to your main Chrome profile’s stored data. Completing Steps 1 or 2 should resolve it.

Still Experiencing the Issue?

If the above steps do not resolve the problem, your Chrome profile may be corrupted.
Create a new Chrome user profile and log into Mothernode again. If the problem disappears, continue using the new profile or migrate your Chrome settings.
