Mothernode allows users to assign associated contacts with their Lead and Opportunity records as well as Customer Accounts. Associated contacts are existing contacts that can be associated with one or many accounts. Associated contacts are generally a third-party contact or person of interest on an account, but not someone who is directly a contact with the account, per se.
A common use for associated contacts is a referral contact or reseller. These contacts could be tied to the customer record as a person of interest, but are not really a customer contact.
