Importing Products and Services into Mothernode CRM

Mothernode CRM provides you with a powerful quoting module that includes plenty of capabilities that will improve your current quoting process. Amongst these features is the ability to stock your Products and Services within the application letting you quickly add items to your quotes, saving you time and effort in your pricing workflow. Creating pricing proposals accurately and quickly is the first testimony to your customers that %customer_company_name% is organized, efficient and can deliver results quickly.

Products and Services
Consider this a categorized listing of goods and services that you can upload and maintain in Mothernode. There is no limit to the number of items you can add, and you can categorize your Products and Services into smaller, organized lists to simplify adding them to your records. When creating transactions you can quickly select items from your Products and Service module to add to your quotes and other transactions (*Transaction types depend on your Mothernode Edition).

Preparing Your List for Import
This process is simple and straightforward. Use the Products and Service XLS Template to create and aggregated list of your goods and services for importing into your Mothernode account. Once you complete building your list, return it to us for Import and we’ll review together in your account.

* This file contains sample data in rows 2 and 3.

Once imported, you can always make updates to individual records or import a revised list to make mass updates.

Item Record Properties
We often refer to the Products and Service module as light inventory, because the records contain basic information about your line items, that are traditional in most transactions. When assembling your goods and services to populate your list, keep in mind including as much information as you can. Applying variables in these standard  fields will enhance your use of your Mothernode Account.

Line Item Fields
YOU CAN OVERRIDE ALL THE DEFAULT SETTINGS USED IN LINE ITEM FIELDS WHEN ADDING THEM TO YOUR TRANSACTIONS

Category: Categorize your products and services and create sub-filters when adding them. For example; if you had Televisions as a Category you would list all your TVs under this category and use Players to list your DVD and Blu Ray products.

Item Name: This is the key identifier of what the item is. Example: Samsung 60″ HDTV

Item Description: This offers a more expansive description for your line item that often includes details of the product. Example: Samsung 60″ HDTV w/3 HDMI ports, Smart Color Technology, 1 remote control, Internet Access and WiFi. Surround Sound Ready.

Unit Cost: This is the base unit cost price for a single product.

Unit of Measure: This is used to define the increment that the unit is sold in. Example: each, dozen, pack, roll, oz, ect.

Unit Markup: This is the default markup that is added to the unit cost that is used to determine the unit sales price. The sales price is what the customer will see in the quote.

Product or Service: This is used to classify the item as a tangible or non-tangible good.

Taxable/Non Taxable: This is used to determine whether or not tax should be calculated on this item when added to a transaction.

Made Here/Made Out: Is used to determine whether or not the item is produced or provided as an in-house service (Made Here) or bought out by a vendor (Made Out).

The Products and Service XLS Template used for your import distributes this information in an easy to add format. In some cases all you need to do is use a value of YES or NO.
